star rating  This is definitely one of the most beautiful walks we have done so far (and we've done quite some)! It is true that it's not an easy walk nor is... read more it a short one, but the effort is rewarded with stunning views. Bring good hiking shoes and do the walk counter clockwise as the steep parts near Nyksund can be slippery. Take drinks with you, as there is no fresh water along the route (countrary to most hikes in the norwegian mountains). Also take some food as this is quite a long walk. We took our time from 11 am to 6 pm, stopping for lunch and admiring the scenery. The stretch by the coast took about 1.5h, the part over the mountains took about 5h. If you want to do this walk with kids below 8 years old or so, or if you have a fear of heights, beware because there are some difficult/steep parts with installed ropes and some scrambling.
Overall this was a fantastic day and the queen knows what she wants :).
